Meadow Creek |

Description: Meadow Brook is located in the upper region of the Memramcook River Watershed and runs on each side of Route 2. The Meadow Brook watershed covers an area of approximately 38 km².
Physical Habitat: The bed of Meadow Brook is mainly characterized by a bottom of rocks sometimes covered by sand or a bit of sediment and also organic matter. The surrouding environment of the water course is primarily wooded (presence of coniferous and leafy trees, including the "bouleau jaune"). Meadow Brook has a good width and its flow is good. Water is clear, sometimes yellowish. No fish have been seen.
Possible pollution sources Along the brook's course, we have observed a few signs of erosion on the true right banks at the following point : N46.09118 W64.58738. Aside from the highway, no other obstacle seems to hinder the course of the brook.
Water Quality According to out observations and considering the last samples taken (2001-2002), the water quality of Meadow Brook seems very good.In fact, the average E-coli rate recorded was 60.8 MPN/100mL and the average dissolved Oxygen rate was of 9.3 mg/L. Considering these rates, as well as the minimal impact of human activity in this sector, the situation of the water quality of Meadow Brook seems to command class A. Finally, it seems that the local community agrees with this recommendation and is ready to maintain the water quality of Meadow Brook.
