There is a shortage of local native seeds, both commercially and in urban environments. Because of this, the Petitcodiac Watershed Alliance have started performing at-home information sessions to empower community members to plant and harvest native seeds on their property. This initiative aims to increase the availability of native seeds for ecosystem improvement while educating citizens on the benefits of native plants. By caring for native plants, individuals contribute to the conservation of natural heritage, improve ecosystems, and help create a sustainable environment for future generations. We still have a few appointment slots left for Native Seeds homeowner visits. If interested email seeds@petitcodiacwatershed.org. To learn more about our Native Seeds project click here.
