Broken Brooks Outflow Chute Installation: Three outflow chutes were installed in the Fox Creek Subwatershed in Memramcook. These outflow chutes, fabricated by the NBCC Metal Fabrication department, are crucial for enabling fish to reach their reproduction habitats. Thank you to our funders for this project New Brunswick Wildlife Trust Fund (NBWTF), Ecological Trust Fund (ETF), and The Foundation for Conservation of Atlantic Salmon (FCAS). Water Quality: We did water quality monitoring at sites in Memramcook, Upper and Lower Petitcodiac. We tested for water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity, turbidity, salinity, total dissolved solids, nitrates, phosphates, and E. coli bacteria. We are now sending our water quality samples to the Research & Productivity Council (RPC) laboratory. Thank you to ETF for funding this project. Temperature Loggers: We installed temperature loggers this summer for our Water Quality, Living Labs and Geomorphology projects. These temperature loggers allow us here at the PWA to follow seasonal trends and assess the aquatic health of an environment with minimal disturbance to aquatic wildlife.
Water Quality Living Labs: We conduct water quality testing for the same parameters at our Living Labs farm sites in Salisbury. This is done to evaluate the potential impacts of field treatments on the water quality of nearby water bodies adjacent to the farm sites.
