Did you know that the all of the PWA’s water quality results from the last 28 years of monitoring are able to be viewed publicly? This is thanks to Atlantic DataStream which is a platform that provides open access to information concerning freshwater health in Atlantic Canada.

As the PWA heads into the 29th year of our water quality monitoring project, we strive to continue public access for this data which can be used for educational purposes, by policy makers, or just to statisfy your own curiosity! By comparing many years of water quality data we are able to notice trends and anomalies at our established sampling sites. For instance, total dissolved solids were at an all time in September 2024 at our Upper Petitcodiac River site. It’s important to track these environmental changes so that we can see the potential threats to wildlife and make plans to mitigate these issues in the future!
