Rounding out our field work for the month of May, we were once again able to begin work on our Stormwater project in the town of Riverview. The purpose of this project is to detect any pollution from stormwater runoff that may be entering the waterways within the town of Riverview, and with the storm on the 25th coming after a particularly dry couple of weeks, we are interested to see what readings these samples may have in store for us.

For our testing this year we have decided to shift our sites from individual storm drains to the points where storm outlets drain into important rivers like the Petitcodiac River and Mill Creek. With this change we will be able to test stormwater runoff from a much wider area to better detect if there are any contaminants entering our waterways. Stay tuned for more info on this project as testing continues throughout the summer.
