Job opportunity : Contract Environmental Restoration Support

We are currently seeking a motivated Contract Environmental Restoration Support to join our team for a four-week full-time position—two weeks in the spring and two weeks in the summer.
As an Contract Environmental Restoration Support, you will take the lead in bank restoration efforts, contributing to the enhancement and protection of watercourses in the Petitcodiac River and Memramcook River in New Brunswick. Your work will focus on mitigating erosion at degraded sites, with special attention to species-at-risk habitats, particularly iBoF salmon.
Position Overview:
The Contract Environmental Restoration Support will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of bank restoration projects. This position involves hands-on fieldwork and close collaboration with the project team, Project Manager, Office Manager, Executive Director, and other PWA staff in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Education/Certification:
A post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant field such as but not limited to geology, environmental science, biology, or natural resource management or other certification with relevant environmental management experience or demonstrated interest.
Experience Required:
- 1+ years delivering projects focused on environmental science and Construction.
- Organized and able to meet project objectives within deadlines.
- Experience with scientific monitoring and field work (observations, data collection, and final reports).
- Experience with construction
Specific duties include:
Field work:
- Field work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, heat, cold) and terrain (forest, wetland, streams).
- Equipment maintenance

- Work with contractors and being part of construction
- Tree planting
- Carrying 50 pounds
