Meadow Brook is located in the upper region of the Memramcook River Watershed, and has an area of 38 km².
The creek bed is mainly characterized as rocky with some sections having a higher sand content. The environment surrounding Meadow Brook is predominantly wooded, with some forestry activity.
Much of Meadow Brook flows adjacent to Route 2 and as a result experiences some fluctuations in water quality related to road runoff. It is important to note that the sampling location in Meadow Brook is downstream of a culvert outfall that is occasionally stagnant due to backflow, leading to lower dissolved oxygen levels.
